29th March, Day 3: A Solemn Trip to Hiroshima

Image
The Bullet Train departs sharp at 6:33 am                Myself & Suman were up and ready at the crack of dawn the next day – double checked for the following - respective phones for the soft copy of the tickets, basic food, a few extra empty covers (to carry our trash – When in Rome, do as Romans do !!!)   and other travel essentials and of course the weather forecast at Hiroshima for the day.   Oh boy, I almost forgot to mention  about the Danish bread that had been so eulogized by Arun even before we had started the trip !!! So it was dutifully packed when we had been to the supermarket the day before and was savored at every available meal break with loads of creamy butter and pickle !!!  RVS and Raju accompanied us to the Shinkansen drop at the station  – since it was a new 'station' and we had to discover the right platform etc. So four heads better than two is what we ...

28 th  February, Day 2: A Bright and Sunny day – Tokyo, here we come !!! Buying the 72-hour Metro pass      One of the first advise was that we had to buy a 72-hour metro pass that would enable us unlimited metro travel in Tokyo which is really essential. Otherwise bu...

But once I open up, its quite a smooth flow - my fingers working furiously on my keyboard. Our recent trip to Japan (as a result of the Tokyo marathon participation by RVS, my husband and Raju , my cousin,  his running mate  for more than  decade now) appeared to be a good way to start blogging. We had travelled together including Suman, Raju's wife.       Since I am a travel bug and based on the wonderful experience this country has to offer , I was keen to capture all the moments and the sights and sounds and share the same with my family and friends. Initially I thought of blogging the entire travel blog in a single shot. But as I started writing I realized that there were so many aspects - logical, wonderful and emotional that I wanted to bring forth. So I have decided to publish th...
